According to Wikipedia, makeup is cosmetics such as lipstick or powder applied to the face, used to enhance or alter the appearance.
I have observed the trend of body and facial makeup these days. The fashion industry is really making a fortune from this makeup of a thing. I see so many women, even some men with facial makeups that you will hardly recognize their real face. Some look like “Adamma” Masquerade from my place. The fashion 
industry is really thriving on the ignorance of people who lack the understanding of their true identity. They know that some confused people are seeking for an identity. They capitalize on this and make a fortune from ignorant people. So sad that young people are always the victim of things like this. In case you are out there, struggling for an identity and making up so that you will appear beautiful and attractive to people, which is not the solution. Maybe because people have said that you are ugly or you are just struggling with self-esteem. Here is God’s definition of your beauty by a Psalmist who came to this understanding. Psalms 139:13-1 says,
“For You formed my innermost parts;You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb.I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;Wonderful are Your works,And my soul knows it very well.My frame was not hidden from You,When I was being formed in secret,And intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth.Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;And in Your book were all written. The days that were appointed for me,When as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape]. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!How vast is the sum of them! If I could count them, they would outnumber the sand.When I awake, I am still with You.” AMP.
My dear, there is no amount of makeup that can ever worth your God-given beauty. Always know this. Don’t allow the fashion industry to define what beauty is to you and make you struggle throughout your life pursuing artificial beauty that fades away. Remember, that this is their business and they will always come up with something to make you patronize their products. They use all kinds of marketing strategies to make sure that you keep buying their products. How I wish that the time and resources that people spend on this makeup of a thing were spent in pursuing the beauty that never fades away. God’s command to you is to seek for an unfading beauty that never fades. 1 Peter 3:3-5 says,
“Your adornment must not be merely external—with interweaving and elaborate knotting of the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or [being superficially preoccupied with] dressing in expensive clothes; 4 but let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not overanxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God. 5 For in this way in former times the holy women, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands and adapting themselves to them” AMP.
“Wives must not let their beauty be something external. Beauty doesn’t come from hairstyles, gold jewelry, or clothes. Rather, beauty is something internal that can’t be destroyed. Beauty expresses itself in a gentle and quiet attitude which God considers precious. After all, this is how holy women who had confidence in God expressed their beauty in the past.They placed themselves under their husbands’ authority.” GW.
This is God’s Word and this is what we should pursue throughout our lifetime. Desire and seek for an unfading beauty. This will help you and everyone around you. Don’t be deceived!
